In the latest episode, Chander won the grand prize of Rs 1 crore by correctly answering a challenging geography question. The question was: “The largest city in which country is not its capital but a port with an Arabic name meaning ‘abode of peace.'” The options were Somalia, Oman, Tanzania, and Brunei.

After using the ‘Double Dip’ lifeline, Chander confidently chose Tanzania as the correct answer. This milestone marked him as the season’s first crorepati.

Amitabh Bachchan was overjoyed, congratulating Chander with a heartfelt hug. Apart from the Rs 1 crore prize, Chander also won a car.

Chander’s winning strategy involved eliminating irrelevant options while staying calm and focused. Notably, he has undergone seven surgeries due to a medical condition present since birth.

The young contestant’s journey didn’t end there. When presented with the Rs 7 crore question, “Who was the first recorded child born to English parents in North America in 1587?”, Chander decided to quit. However, when encouraged by Amitabh Bachchan to take a guess, he chose option A) Virginia Dare, which surprisingly turned out to be correct.

The 22-year-old contestant, who has undergone seven surgeries due to a medical condition present since birth, attributed his success on the quiz show to his strategy of eliminating irrelevant options while staying calm and focused, which ultimately led him closer to victory.

Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 airs on Sony TV and streams live on SonyLIV.
