Jammu: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address rallies in Jammu province today amid the campaigning for the third phase of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. This marks his third visit to Jammu, having previously addressed election rallies for the first two phases.

Shah’s itinerary includes a public rally in Chenani, among other locations. The third and final phase of polling is set for October 1, with 40 seats being contested across seven districts out of the total 90 seats of Jammu and Kashmir. Polling will be held on 40 seats. Among them, 16 seats will be held in Kashmir, while 24 seats will be held in Jammu. The districts that will be polled in this phase include Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Udhampur, Kathua, Sanbi and Jammu. A total of 449 aspirants are in the fray for this third and biggest phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

The first two phases of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir have concluded, while the third and final phase of polling will be held on October 1. Notably, top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, are actively campaigning in Jammu and Kashmir to secure more seats. Observers believe that these high-profile rallies not only benefit party candidates but also boost worker morale.
