Vice Chancellor Trophy unfurled; Students XI lifts Amad e Ramdhan Trophy

Srinagar: The Students XI of University of Kashmir came out victorious against Non Teaching XI and emerged as the winner of 1st ever Amad e Ramdhan Cricket Tournament which was played today at Main Campus ground of University of Kashmir.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan was the chief guest on the occasion distributed the trophies among the teams. While speaking on the occasion, Honble V C congratulated both the teams for showing true spirit during the tournament. The Honble VC emphasized the importance of sports to develop leadership qualities among the participants.
She also praised the efforts of the Directorate for putting their best efforts for the promotion and development of sports.

The other dignitaries present were the Register University of Kashmir Prof Naseer Iqbal, Dr Ashfaq Zarri Special Secretary to Honble Vice Chancellor.

Dr Mandeep thanked the Honble Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries for sparing their valuable time for boosting up the morale of participants and the directorate.
The tournament was organised by Directorate of Physical Education and Sports under the supervision of Cricket Coaches Miss Sakeena Akhtar and Mr Amjad Qadir.

The Honble Vice Chancellor along with the other dignitaries later on unveiled the Challengers Trophy. The Challengers trophy will be played in five different games and will be the first of its kind, starting with Cricket in coming days. This unique initiative of the directorate will engage more youth into sports which will lead them to live healthy lifestyles and keep them away from social evil activities.Mr. Sheikh Adil, Gymnasium Coach DPE&S K.U conducted the proceedings of the Event.
