PM lashes out at Congress, shares vision of 'Modi 3.0'

New Delhi: Launching a full-blown attack on the Congress over their policies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday highlighted achievements of his government in the past ten years and exuded confidence of returning to power for the third consecutive term.

While he minced no words to corner the Congress governments in the past, he spoke at length about the milestones achieved during his two terms.

Replying to ‘Motion of Thanks to the President’s address in Rajya Sabha, Modi laid out the vision for next five years and listed out housing for all, piped gas to every household, Bullet train, free electricity through solar power among the key goals of the ‘Modi 3.0’ government.

“The third term of our government is not far. Some people call it ‘Modi 3.0’. Modi 3.0 will use all its might to work towards strengthening the foundation of Viksit Bharat,” Modi said.

Modi spoke for over one and half hours in the Upper House waxing eloquent about his performance.

The House adopted the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address after PM Modi’s reply to the discussion.

In his high-octane speech, Modi promised to make medical treatment much more affordable in the next five years and said that every poor will have piped water connection.

“In the next five years, it will be ensured that no poor household is deprived of pakka House. In the next five years, the electricity bill will be zero through solar power. There will be nil electricity bill for crores of citizens and if properly planned then they will also be able to earn by selling excess power (from rooftop solar). This is the vision for the next five years,” he said.

He further said in the next five years the government will push hard for covering entire country with piped gas network.

“In the next five years, the world will see the capability of our youth. Our start-ups, unicorns will grow by lakhs. Not only this, tier-II and tier-III cities will see the emergence of new start-ups. They will have a new identity, thanks to the start-ups,” Modi said.
