4 Drug Peddlers Arrested With Contraband Substance in Anantnag: Police

Anantnag, Jul 20 : Police on Wednesday said to have arrested four drug peddlers alongside contraband substance in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

“Police party from Police Post Janglatmandi laid down a Naka at Bilal Colony Janglatmandi Anantnag and apprehended three drug peddlers namely Waseem Ahmad Alie son of Gh Rasool Alie, resident of Chaindain Panjan Kulgam, Abid Hussain Peer son of Sheeraj-U- Din Peer, resident of Soaf Shali Kokernag and Hussain Ahmad Ganie son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, resident of Khalhaar Kokernag along with 10 grams Heroin”, reads a statement issued to GNS.

“In this regard, a case has been registered and investigation taken up”, the statement reads.

“Moreover another Police Party from Police Station Srigufwara during Naka duty at Achdar Khiram intercepted one person walking towards Khiram carrying a nylon bag on his shoulder, during his search police party recovered about 5 kgs of Bung Bosa and 400 gms of Charas powder from his possession. The accused disclosed his identity as Dilawar Ahmad Khan son of Khan Zaman, resident of Achdar Khiram. The said accused was immediately taken into custody and contraband seized”, reads the statement.

“Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making continuous efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace”, concludes the statement. (GNS)
