IIBC and IAI to welcome Consulate General of India, Chicago Sudhakar Dalela

Indianpolis,  : Indiana India Business Council (IIBC), India Association of Indianapolis (IAI) and Indianapolis Hyderabad Sister City Committee is hosting a reception in honor of new Consulate General of India, Chicago Mr Sudhakar Dalela at India Palace Banquet Hall, Indianapolis on May 16 from 0630 hrs to 2100 hrs, according to Raju Chinthala, founder and president Indiana India Business Council.
Mr Sudhakar Dalela joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1993. He began his career in Tel Aviv, Israel, where he also acquired proficiency in Hebrew. He has since served in Indian Missions in Brasilia, Geneva, Dhaka, and Washington DC.
This is his second assignment in the United States, he previously served as Minister (Political Affairs) at the Indian Embassy in Washington DC.
He brings a wealth of experience in trade and economic policy to his role, having served twice at the Permanent Mission of India to the WTO, including as India’s Deputy Permanent Representative. He was member of India’s negotiating team for the WTO Ministerial Conferences in Doha, Cancun, Hong Kong China and Nairobi.
Mr Sudhakar Dalela has also served in critical roles in New Delhi. He served as a Director in the Prime Minister’s Office, focusing on India’s engagement with its South Asian neighbors, China, and countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Gulf, Middle East, and Africa. Most recently, he served as Joint Secretary (North), overseeing India’s relations with Bhutan and Nepal.
Before joining the Foreign Service, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering.
