Ghaziabad, Nov 5: Around 40 vehicles collided with each other on the Delhi-Meerut expressway in Ghaziabad district injuring several on Friday, when at least 5 people were also killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a car on the Yamuna expressway as smog engulfed the Delhi-NCR region post Diwali with firecrackers burst deep into the night despite a Supreme Court ban.

Due to the collision here, the expressway witnessed major traffic congestion for couple of hours.

Police said the bus jumped the divider and collided with the car in the opposite lane near Milestone 71.

The deceased were 4 of the car and the bus driver. Two others were also injured in the accident.

The car was coming from Ghaziabad while the bus was headed towards Noida.
