Nine persons from Southern Shopian villages booked under PSA, shifted to different Jammu Jails

Shopian, Oct 21, KNT: At least 9 persons from South Kashmir’s Shopian district have been booked under Public Safety Act and shifted to District Jails of Poonch, Rajouri and Kathua of Jammu region.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that PSA warrants were issued by District Magistrate Shopian against 9 suspects who are the natives of different hamlets of Shopian district.

Among these 9 persons 3 have been shifted and lodged at District Jail Rajouri. They were identified as Sameer Ahmad Malla of Maldera Zainpora, Muzamil Ahmad Dar of Rai Kapren and Muhammad Iqbal Ganaie, a resident of Chitragam village.

Two more persons shifted to District Jail Poonch have been identified as Sajad Ahmad Bhat of Maldera Zainpora and Rouf Ahmad Bhat of Sofipora Zainpora.

Those who have booked under PSA and sent to District Jail Kathua are Junaid Haroon Rashid of Vehil, Waseem Ahmad Ganaie of Meemander Shopian, Irfan Ahmad Kutay of Chotipora village and Jahangir Ahmed Malik of Kilora Shopian.

Pertinently, scores of persons have been arrested following the recent killings of civilians in parts of Kashmir Valley. (KNT)
