Covid-19: Ganderbal village declared ‘red zone’ after fresh death of a woman

Ganderbal, May 11, : After a fresh death of a woman due to Covid-19, the local administration has declared Wusan village of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district as red zone.

The administration has also advised the family members of the deceased woman to self-isolate themselves. Also, the medical team has been asked to collect blood samples of the villagers who came in contact with the woman.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that 55 years old woman (name withheld), wife of Bashir Ahmed Shah, who was a Covid-19 positive patient died on the intervening night of 10 and 11 May at District Hospital Ganderbal.

The body was buried following all Covid-19 related SOPs at Wusan village.

An official said that the fencing was done on the borders of the village and sanitation drive will be  carried out by the workers as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the deadly virus. The police have also warned people to adhere to the lockdown rules. (KNT)
