
Srinagar, Aug 7: In a significant breakthrough against property crime, Srinagar Police has solved a major theft case and recovered stolen property worth approximately โน๐ญ๐ณ.๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ต.
The case was registered at Police Station Rainawari as FIR No. 35/2026 under Sections 305 and 331(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a complaint lodged by Mohd Amin Changa, son of Mohd Yousuf Changa, a resident of Changa Mohalla, Mir Behri, Dal, Rainawari, regarding a theft at his residence.
During the investigation, Police identified one accused namely ๐๐จ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐จ, ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ณ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐จ, ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐๐๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ค๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐, ๐๐ข๐ซ ๐๐๐ก๐ซ๐ข, ๐๐๐ฅ, ๐๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐ข. During investigation, his involvement in the theft was disclosed, in connivance with two associates, both of whom were found to be juveniles.
Acting upon the disclosure, the investigating team recovered gold ornaments valued at approximately โน12 lakhs along with cash amounting to โน2.2 lakhs.
Further investigation revealed that a portion of the stolen money had been used to purchase three iPhones and one motorcycle, collectively valued at approximately โน3.5 lakhs. These items have also been recovered.
The recovered stolen property includes:
โข Two gold bangles
โข Eight gold rings
โข One gold necklace
โข One gold pendant set
โข Two large earring sets
โข One small earring set
โข One pair of gold jhumkas
โข One wristwatch
โข Cash amounting to โน2.2 lakhs
โข Three iPhones
โข One motorcycle
The total value of the recovered gold ornaments, cash, and other stolen articles is estimated at approximately โน๐ญ๐ณ.๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ต.
Further investigation into the case is underway, and additional recoveries are expected.
