Multi-Agency Teams Continue Hunt for Body of 10-Year-Old in Gurez

Tulail, July 7,: The search operation to retrieve the body of a 10-year-old boy, who drowned in the Kishanganga River in Sheikhpora village of Tulail in north Kashmir’s Gurez Valley, entered its second day on Tuesday, with rescue teams intensifying efforts at the site.
The operation is being carried out jointly by personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the Indian Army and Police, with active assistance from local volunteers, who have been combing the river since early morning.
The child has been identified as Babar Bashir Sheikh. Despite continuous efforts by the rescue teams on the first day, the body could not be traced due to the strong river current and challenging conditions.
Officials and volunteers are continuing the search operation in the hope of locating the body at the earliest. [KNT]
