MMU expresses outrage Over Pork Products on Blinkit, Asks the  Company to immediately remove them from their Stock to sell in Kashmir


Srinagar, August 06:  Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) Jammu & Kashmir expressed outrage and shock after screenshots shared by people brought to its notice that pork products are being listed for sale on the online delivery platform Blinkit in Kashmir.

MMU said that while it is generally know to all that pork sale or consumption is prohibited in Islam , and Muslims are very sensitive to this matter , how was it allowed to enter the market for sale ? This matter should be seriously investigated by the authorities and those involved warned .
The Majlis asked Blinkit  to take immediately take the products off their shelves and seriously ensure that pork products are neither stocked, advertised nor sold in Kashmir. It said that businesses operating in the region have to respect religious and cultural sensitivities of the region and act responsibly.
