Mughal, SSG, and Sinthan Roads Open; Partial Restriction on NH-44

Jammu, Sep 11, : Authorities have allowed only one-way movement of light motor vehicles (LMVs) on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) on Wednesday morning, citing incomplete restoration work at Tharad. Vehicles are permitted to move only from Jammu towards Srinagar, while traffic in the opposite direction has been barred.

Officials said Mughal Road, Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) Road, and Sinthan Road are open for vehicular traffic as per advisory. However, on NH-44, commuters have been cautioned not to travel against the prescribed directions and to strictly follow lane discipline to avoid congestion. Overtaking, they warned, could further choke traffic flow.

The Traffic Police Department appealed to the public not to pay heed to rumors and to confirm the latest road status through official communication channels, including the Traffic Police Twitter handle (@Traffic_hqrs), Facebook page (facebook.com/jammuandkashmirtrafficpolice), and Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
