Non-Local Crushed to Death by Train in Budgam-Baramulla Rail Section


Srinagar, July 8 : A non-local man was Crushed to death after being hit by a moving train in the Budgam–Baramulla railway section on Tuesday morning, officials said.

An official told news agency JKNS that the tragic incident took place near kilometer 74 in Chodribagh, between Budgam and Baramulla stations, when Train No. 74614 was en route.
“The man was run over by the train and died on the spot,” official said, adding that his identity is yet to be ascertained but he is believed to be a non-local.

Railway police and local authorities have reached the spot, and further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the fatal accident. The body has been taken for medico-legal formalities. (JKNS)
