Youth Are the Driving Force Behind India’s Development: Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya

Union Minister Engages with Students at University of Kashmir Under ‘Viksit Bharat – Yuva Connect’ Initiative

Srinagar: Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, emphasized the crucial role of youth in shaping India’s future while addressing students at the University of Kashmir today. Speaking at an event under the Viksit Bharat – Yuva Connect initiative, he stated that the government is committed to empowering young people through strategic policies and initiatives, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.

Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, underscored the critical role of youth in India’s progress while addressing students at the University of Kashmir today. The event, organized under the Viksit Bharat – Yuva Connect initiative, aimed at inspiring students to actively contribute to the nation’s growth. He highlighted that achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047 requires structured planning and the active participation of young minds.

Dr. Mandaviya praised the youth of the nation who have excelled in various fields. He emphasized that the strength, ambition, and innovation of young students will drive India’s journey toward development. “The dream of a developed India will be realized through the determination and talent of our youth,” he remarked.

The Minister also outlined the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, citing key policy decisions and budget allocations that focus on education, skill development, and employment generation. He stressed that these initiatives are designed to equip young people with the necessary tools to contribute meaningfully to the country’s progress.

Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, Prof. Nilofer Khan, welcomed the Minister and expressed confidence in the ability of students to play a vital role in national development. Encouraging them to take small yet impactful steps, she stated, “Every student has the potential to be a catalyst for positive change.”

As part of the program, Dr. Mandaviya interacted with students, engaging in discussions on leadership, aspirations, and nation-building. The event also witnessed a tree-planting ceremony on the university campus under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative, reinforcing a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Senior officials from the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs, educationists, and other distinguished guests were present at the event, which was part of a broader initiative to connect with students across the Kashmir Valley.

To advance the goal of developed India by 2047 among youth, the “Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect” programmes has been conceptualized with the aim to foster youth engagement and leadership in the developmental transformation of India. The events are organised around discussions on the concept of Viksit Bharat with young people in educational institutions throughout India. Youth also get an opportunity to interact with eminent speakers.

The ‘Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect’ was launched from Maharashtra on 19.08.2024. So far, Yuva Connect programmes have been organized in Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Delhi, Gujarat and now Jammu & Kashmir.
