Khelo India Winter Games 2025 Postponed Due to Insufficient Snowfall

Srinagar: The 5th edition of the Khelo India Winter Games, initially scheduled to be held in Gulmarg from February 22-25, 2025, has been postponed due to insufficient snowfall in the region.

An official from the Youth Services and Sports Department confirmed to KNS the postponement, stating that the current snow conditions are not suitable for hosting the event. The official further explained that a new assessment would be conducted once the snow conditions improve, and a revised update on the event will be announced accordingly.

The postponement has raised concerns among athletes and organizers, with many awaiting clarity on the new dates. The Winter Games Association of J&K is expected to announce the revised schedule and updates on athlete screenings once the snow levels are deemed adequate for the games.

The postponement reflects the challenges posed by weather conditions in organizing winter sports events. Stakeholders are hopeful that once the snow conditions improve, the 5th Khelo India Winter Games will be rescheduled to ensure a successful and safe event for all participants. (KNS)
