Locals Demolish Kaaba Replica in North Kashmir, Mentally Ill Man Detained

Baramulla: Locals in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district have demolished a structure resembling the Kaaba, which was built by a mentally ill man in Waripora village of Kunzar.
The man, had reportedly been claiming to be Sufi saint Sheikh Nooruddin Wali and had invited people to visit his site if they were unable to travel for Umrah.


Following concerns raised by religious scholars, including Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, who had called for his immediate arrest, the individual was taken into custody.
Officials have stated that he will be sent to a mental health facility for evaluation before any further legal proceedings
