Residential House Gutted in Massive Fire in Doubagh Sopore

Sopore: A single-storey residential house in Doubagh village of Sopore town, located in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, was completely gutted in a massive fire late Tuesday evening, officials said.
An official said told the news agency JKNS that fire tenders from the Sopore fire station immediately responded to an emergency call and launched a rescue operation to contain the flames and prevent their spread to nearby properties.
He added that the house, owned by Bashir Ahmed Khuroo, a resident of Doubagh, Sopore, was engulfed in flames despite the concerted efforts of fire personnel, police, and local residents. Although the rescue teams managed to control the fire and prevent its further spread, the property was completely destroyed, resulting in an estimated loss of lakhs of rupees.
He further said that fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported during the incident. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the origin of the blaze.—(JKNS)
