Tangmarg: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa chaired an important meeting here  to review preparations for the 5th edition of Khelo India 2025, scheduled to take place at the renowned tourist destination of Gulmarg.

During the meeting, several critical aspects were discussed to ensure smooth execution and a successful event.

One of the primary concerns discussed was parking arrangements. The DC emphasized the need for a comprehensive parking plan to accommodate the large number of participants, officials, and spectators expected. Officials were directed to identify strategic parking zones in both Tangmarg and Gulmarg to minimize congestion and provide easy access to the event venues.

Accommodation for participants, guests, officials, and other attendees was highlighted as a key area of concern. The DC stressed the importance of ensuring sufficient lodging arrangements, including hotels, government huts, and other available facilities. Discussions focused on securing comfortable and well-equipped accommodation to meet the needs of all those attending the event.

Logistics mobilization was another important aspect of the meeting. The DC underlined the need for seamless coordination in transporting sports equipment and managing essential services. A dedicated logistics team was tasked with overseeing the smooth movement of resources, ensuring no disruptions during the event.

Regarding Traffic management, particularly between Tangmarg and Gulmarg, the DC instructed the concerned authorities to devise effective traffic flow measures and ensure the smooth movement of vehicles, including enhancing public transport services. Provisions for traffic diversions and support for managing congestion during peak hours were also discussed.

Lastly, the establishment of a centralized control room for coordination was deemed essential. The control room will monitor and manage all event-related operations, including security, logistics, and traffic management, ensuring that any arising issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.

The meeting concluded with a strong commitment from all departments to collaborate closely, with regular follow-ups to ensure the timely and successful execution of all preparations.
