Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in separate incidents and recovered contraband/psychotropic substances from their possession on Friday.
In a statement issued to Asian Mail, Police official said that a person identified as Bashir Ahmed Ganie Son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie Resident of Suthsu Kalan, had hoarded contraband substances in his residential house, and a police party of PS Nowgam raided the said location.
He said that during the search, 8.5 kgs of Psychotropic substances were recovered from his residence and the accused owner of the house has been arrested.
In this regard Case FIR no. 116/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Nowgam and investigation initiated.
Meanwhile, during the investigation of the case FIR No. 28/2024 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Maisuma, a checkpoint was established at Sheikh Bagh Lane, following the disclosure of two arrested drug peddlers of the instant case, the main accused identified as Shabir Ahmad Zaindari son of Bashir Ahmad Zaindari resident of Firdous Colony Bemina has been arrested.
