Chaos continues in J&K  Assembly as BJP stages Protest against passing of resolution on Special status, Halting Proceedings

Speaker adjourned house till tomorrow

Srinagar: After a one-hour adjournment, the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly remained in turmoil today as the opposition BJP continued its strong protest against a controversial resolution passed earlier. The resolution, introduced by the Deputy Chief Minister and passed by the Speaker, faced fierce resistance from BJP members led by Opposition Leader Sunil Sharma.

Despite requests from the Speaker for decorum, BJP legislators escalated their dissent, chanting slogans against the resolution and moving to the well of the House to intensify their demonstration. Some BJP members even climbed onto benches in an open display of opposition.

Addressing the disruption, the Speaker urged the opposition to consider moving a vote of confidence if they opposed his authority on the resolution. However, as the situation showed no signs of calming, the Speaker adjourned the House until tomorrow.( KINS )
