SMC Launches Special Cleanliness Drive and Distributes Eco- Friendly Bags in Major Markets of Srinagar City as Part of the Swachhata Pakhwada Campaign

Srinagar: Taking a significant step towards a cleaner and more sustainable Srinagar, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has launched a special sanitation drive in major markets of the Srinagar city. This initiative, part of the Swachhata Pakhwada Campaign, focuses on enhancing cleanliness standards and promoting eco-friendly practices.

With the objective of fostering a cleaner environment, SMC has deployed teams of sanitation workers to ensure that the bustling markets of Srinagar remain free of litter. The corporation’s commitment in creating a greener city is exemplified through this concerted effort to improve overall hygiene and cleanliness.

In line with its sustainability goals, the SMC distributed Eco-friendly bags to both shopkeepers and consumers. These reusable and biodegradable bags serve as an environment friendly alternative to single-use plastic bags, aiming to reduce plastic waste and encourage sustainable living practices in the Srinagar city.

By actively engaging shopkeepers and consumers to the use of Eco-friendly bags, the SMC is advocating for a reduction in plastic pollution and a transition towards more sustainable habits. The corporation appeals all residents and businesses in Srinagar to embrace this initiative, supporting the drive towards a cleaner and greener future for the city.

Through collaborative efforts and conscious choices, Srinagar can pave the way for a more environmentally responsible and sustainable community. Together, let us work towards a cleaner, healthier, and more vibrant Srinagar.
