Srinagar Boat Capsizing Incident: Will keep the rescue operation on through night hours to look for missing persons, says DC Srinagar Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-din

Srinagar: The rescue operation will be continued through the night hours to look for the whereabouts of missing persons drowned in river Jhelum, said Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-din Bhat, here on Tuesday evening.

Talking to GNS, Bhat said that after consultation with different agencies as part of the rescue operation, they have unanimously decided to keep up with their efforts to see if any other recovery is made.

“The agencies have been making all possible efforts to look for the persons, at least three in number, to recover them at an earliest,” Bhat said.

Notably, the deceased persons in the tragic incident include; Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Razia Jan, Gulzar Ahmad, Firdousa Begum, Tanvir Fayaz, Mudasir Fayaz while those rescued and subsequently hospitalised include Masrat Begum, Irshada Bilal, Ghulam Nabi Khan, Mehraj ud Din Dar, Noor Mohammad, Aisha Jan, Insha Bilal, Humaira Shabir, Mohammad Rafiq Bhat and Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh.

Those who continue to remain elusive from the rescuers include; Farhan Waseem, Haziq Showkat and Showkat Ahmad Sheikh.

As learnt by GNS, four boats of SDRF, two boats of River police, one each of F&ES, NDRF, four Marcos divers and two SDRF divers are part of the operation going on at the site since this morning.
