Anticipate record-breaking voter turnout in Kashmir in LS polls : Div Com

Srinagar : A senior government functionary in Kashmir on Saturday said they expect a record-breaking voter turnout in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Kashmir.

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, V K Bidhuri said all preparations for the upcoming polls are in place.

“The Election Commission of India team, which recently visited here, was given a complete presentation and they also expressed their satisfaction with regard to the preparations,” Bidhuri told reporters in Srinagar.

He said that once any order is received from ECI, the elections will be conducted in a free and fair manner.

Bidhuri said that candidates will be provided due security to ensure free and fair elections.

“I am sure this time there will be record-breaking voter turnout in the polls in Kashmir,” he said.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi, today said that Police are fully prepared for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

“The Jammu and Kashmir police is always ready for any event… We are ready for the polls,” Birdi told reporters in south Kashmir’s Kulgam.
