Cheque Bounce Case Dismissed in Srinagar Court Over Procedural Lapse

Srinagar: In a significant ruling, the 4th Additional Munsiff Court in Srinagar acquitted an accused in a cheque bounce case, emphasizing the importance of strict adherence to legal procedures under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

The court observed that the case was not maintainable in law due to a procedural lapse, leading to the acquittal of the accused. The judgment highlights that even in cases of cheque dishonour, failure to comply with statutory timelines and procedural requirements can be decisive in the outcome of the trial.

The accused was represented by Advocate Tanveer Ahmad Dar.
