Two drug peddlers arrested in Baramulla

Baramulla: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested drug peddlers in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and recovered contraband substances & cash from their possession.

A Spokesperson said that a police party headed by SHO PS Boniyar during naka checking established at Bernate link road Boniyar, Baramulla intercepted two persons who tried to flee away but were apprehended tactfully, who were later identified as Mohd Rafiq Sheikh son of Mohd Subhan & Bashir Ahmad Ganie son of Gh Rasool both residents of Bernate Boniyar. During their search, the officer was able to recover 48 grams of contraband Charas like substances & cash 4600/-. They have been arrested and shifted to Boniyar police station where they remain in custody.

“Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Boniyar and investigations have been initiated”, he said.
