Two drug peddlers held in Sopore

 

Sopore: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday have arrested two drug peddlers in North Kashmir’s Sopore and recovered Psychotropic substance from their possession.

While continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and the back to back actions against the drug peddlers are being taken out in the Police district with the aim of bringing drug peddling to the zero level .

In this regard, Police party headed by Incharge Police Post Fruit Mandi intercepted a Maruti Swift Car bearing registration number JK01AU 3674 in which two persons were boarding during naka checking at Reban.

During the search, the Police party was able to recover 112 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon Plus and 11 Bottles of Codeine Phosphate from the car.

Both accused were arrested on spot and after preliminary investigation they were identified as: Umer Rashid Shalla S/O Abdul Rashid Shalla and Adnan Manzoor Antoo S/O Manzoor Ahmad Antoo both the residents of Sidiq Colony Sopore.

Regarding the incident, case with FIR No.18/2024 U/S 8/21, 22, 29 of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation is in progress.
