BCCI announces squads for Women's ODI & T20I series against Australia

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Women’s Selection Committee on Monday announced India’s squads for the upcoming three ODIs and three T20Is against Australia.

Harmanpreet Kaur will lead in both the formats, while Smriti Mandhana is her deputy.

In their last outing in coloured clothing, India suffered a 2-1 series loss to England in the T20I format.

However, since then the Women in Blue lifted their game and garnered back-to-back Test wins against England and Australia respectively.

ODI Squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Smriti Mandhana (vc), Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Richa Ghosh (wk), Amanjot Kaur, Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, Saika Ishaque, Renuka Singh Thakur, Titas Sadhu, Pooja Vastrakar, Sneh Rana and Harleen Deol.

T20I Squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Smriti Mandhana (vc), Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Richa Ghosh (wk), Amanjot Kaur, Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, Saika Ishaque, Renuka Singh Thakur, Titas Sadhu, Pooja Vastrakar, Kanika Ahuja, Minnu Mani.

Regulars such as Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Renuka Singh and Pooja Vastrakar are part of the team. The team has two keepers in Yastika Bhatia and Richa Ghosh. The latter impressed recently in her debut at the Wankhede.

The three-match ODI series will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai and will kickstart on December 28, 2023. The next two ODIs will be played on December 30, 2023 and January 2, 2024 respectively.

The action will then shift to DY Patil, Navi Mumbai which will host the three T20Is on January 5, 2024, January 7, 2024 & January 09, 2024 respectively.
