Man held along with 30 lacs, charas powder in Shopian

Shopian: Police in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday claimed to have arrested an individual and recovered charas powder and 30 lacs cash.

An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that a police team raided the residential house of Farooq Ahmad Koka, son of Ab Karim Koka of Melhura.

The officer said during the search of the instant house, the police party recovered charas powder and approximately 25 to 30 lacs of Indian currency.

The officer further said that the accused has been arrested, and a case under FIR No. 93/23 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act, 489 IPC, has been registered at police station Zainapora.

The officer said that further investigation has been initiated into this case.
