B2V-5: 3rd/ Final round commences across 50 Panchayats at Bandipora

Commissioner SMC, Addl Sec YS&S & other VOs visit respective Panchayats; listen public demands, issues

Bandipora: The third and last round of phase fifth of ambitious ‘Back to Village (B2V-5)’ programme commenced today across 50 Panchayats of Bandipora with much fanfare.

The Visiting Officers (VOs) held interaction with the locals, and locals apprised them about their grievances, projected public demands and village needs.

Sports activities, cultural activities, distribution under public welfare schemes and employment generation schemes were conducted. Sports kits, Land passbooks, and kits to women beneficiaries were provided by the Visiting Officers.

Moreover, awareness was disseminated to the people regarding individual beneficiary oriented schemes, besides, other developmental and welfare measures.

Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Athar Aamir Khan visited Shilvat Panchayat Halqa of Sumbal Subdivision Bandipora as Visiting Officer to assess the development issues and needs of the people.

On the occasion, the Commissioner interacted with PRIs, social activists, youth clubs and locals to take stock of their issues concerning welfare and development of their areas. He listened to the issues raised by the participants on the occasion.

Additional Secretary, Department of Youth Services & Sports (YS&S), Waseem Raja visited Aragam Panchayat Halqa of the district as visiting officer under the Ambitious Back to Village-5 to assess the development parameters of the Panchayat.

He visited Aragam panchayat of district Bandipora, to take part in the activities being organised in the panchayat. On the occasion, Raja also interacted with the locals and PRIs to take first hand appraisal of the problems and issues faced by them.

Meanwhile, Director Finance, Kashmir University, Bashir Ahmad visited Panchayat Ayatmulla, Bandipora as Visiting officer to take firsthand stock of saturation of CSS and UT schemes besides listen to public issues and demands.

Similarly, Director Finance, SKUAST-K, Manzoor Ahmad Wani, visited Garoora-A Panchayat of the district to assess developmental scenario in the area and took first hand appraisal of the issues faced by the people.

Also, public outreach camps were organized in designated villages of subdivision Sumbal and Gurez where visiting officers under B2V5 interacted with the local people under the over all supervision of Sub divisional magistrates.

Secretary SDA, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Bhat; Under Secretary, Mission Youth, J&K, Dr Murtaza; besides other senior officers deputed by GAD were among the officers who visited different panchayats across the district.

The visiting officers documented all the grievances/issues projected by the people during the day.

The frontline workers of different departments present on the occasion replied to the queries raised by the public pertaining to their sectors.
