BJP slams Farooq, Safiuddin for advocating talks with Pak

New Delhi, Sep 15: BJP on Friday slammed Congress leader Safiuddin Soz and NCP Chief Farooq Abdullah for advocating talks with Pakistan and said when the last journey of our brave soldiers is going on, it is not only “inappropriate but also sad”.

“Amidst the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, some leaders are making anti-national statements,” said BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra here.

Patra’s remakes came after three Army personnel, including a Colonel and a Major, and a deputy superintendent of the Jammu and Kashmir Police were killed in a gunfight with terrorists in Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Congress leader Saifuddin Soz has said India should not only talk to Pakistan but should also try to understand what is going on in the minds of terrorists,” he added.

Patra said Farooq Abdullah and other leaders have also talked about talks with Pakistan. Making such statements at a time when the last journey of our brave soldiers is going on is not only inappropriate but also sad,” he added.

On Thursday, National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah said India and Pakistan will have to come to the dialogue table if they want to end bloodshed and find lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Such incidents will continue if there is no dialogue. We are fools if we think that violence will stop. We will keep losing lives. There is no other way but dialogue,” said Abdullah.
