PDD employee falls from pole during repair work, receives critical injuries

Srinagar, Mar 14 : A permanent employee from Power Development Department (PDD) sustained critical head injuries after falling off from an electric pole in a locality near Srinagar Airport on Tuesday.

Reports said that Hilal Ahmed Dar son of late Ghulam Nabi Dar, a resident of Hyderpora was busy in repair work on top of the pole when suddenly he received an electric shock, leading to his fall. Dar received critical head injuries.

One of the family members of the said employee told news agency Kashmir News Trust that Hilal Ahmed was taken to JVC Hospital for treatment where doctors referred him to SKIMS Soura.His condition is stated to be critical, he said adding that the incident occurred at New Colony Airport.

The victim works at PDD Division 2nd Raj Bagh and is deputed in Hyderpora. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case.
