74th Republic Day celebrated at Kangan sub division

BDC chairperson Kangan unfurls tricolor

 

Ganderbal, Jan 26: 74th Republic Day was today celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Sub-Division Kangan.

The main function was held at ITI Kangan in which BDC Chairperson Kangan, Mohammad Yousuf Poswal unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the march past.

 

SDM kangan, Javid Ahmed Rather, SDPO Kangan Muzafar Ahmad Jan, Tehsildar Kangan, Mohd Altaf, Tehsildar Gund, Javaid Iqbal besides officers from various security agencies and other sectoral officers were present.

 

PRI members and large public gathering also participated with enthusiasm it the function.

 

On the occasion various cultural programs including patriotic songs and local folk music were presented by the students and local artists who were appreciated by the audience.

 

The function concluded with the distribution of appreciation certificates and memento to the students and artists who performed in cultural programs. PRIs, officials and frontline workers were also felicitated for their outstanding work while performing their legitimate duties.
