Driver dies after boulders hit truck on Srinagar-Jammu Highway

Ramban, Jan 25: A truck driver from South Kashmir died on the spot while two others sustained injuries after boulders hit a truck and a tanker on Srinagar-Jammu Highway in Ramban district.

The incident occurred in Magarkote area of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

They told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a truck (JK18A-6968) and a tanker (JK02BL-8177) came under rolling boulders and shooting stones, resulting in the on spot death of the truck driver who has been identified as Muneeb Ahmed Tak, a resident of Soput village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Two persons sustained injuries and have been admitted at Sub District Hospital Banihal. They have been identified as Gopal Singh of Peera and Rajinder Nath of Batote.
