Director YSS  inaugurates National Youth Festival in Jammu


Jammu, Jan 2: The philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and the ideals for which he lived and worked have always been a great source of inspiration for the youth. So the youth needs to take a leaf from Swamiji’s ideas to achieve success. This was stated by the Director Youth Services & Sports J&K, Shri  S. C. Chibber while inaugurating five days-long Nation Youth Festival at Teachers Bhawan Jammu, here today.
The Chief Guest along with Joint Director  Jammu and all the District Officers of the Department lighted the ceremonial lamp to declare the event open.
On the first day of the event, all the districts presented folk songs reflecting the culture & tradition of the UT.  In the event, more than 500 participants from all 20 districts of the UT are participating. The artistic youth selected here will participate in the National Youth Festival being held in Karnataka from the 12th of the instant.
National Youth Festival is being celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanada and aims to propagate the concept of National integration, sprit of communal harmony, brotherhood, courage & adventure amongst the youth by exhibiting their cultural prowess in a common platform.
