Advisor Bhatnagar chairs 85th BoDs of JKRTC

Srinagar, May 27: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today chaired the 85th BoDs meet of Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) at Civil Secretariat here.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, Transport Department, Hirdesh Kumar; MD JKRTC, Rakesh Kumar Srangal; DG, Budget, M.Y Ittoo; Director Finance, PWD, representatives of Labour and Employment department, senior officers of transport department and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, the Board discussed various issues pertaining to JKRTC like performance of JKRTC during the Financial year 2021-22, outstanding payments with different departments, purchase of vehicles, utilisation of JKRTC fleet by all Government/Semi-Government departments,  commercial utilisation of JKRTC assets among others.

The Board also held deliberations on the Action Taken Report of the previous BoDs meeting.

Speaking during the meeting, Advisor Bhatnagar, who is also the Chairman of Board, asked the management of JKRTC that the Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS) should be made fully operational besides a mobile application should also be developed at the earliest, so that the citizens can be provided better and efficient services.

While discussing on different avenues for progression of the corporation, Advisor Bhatnagar impressed upon the management of corporation to collaborate with different  government departments like Election, Information and Tourism departments, among others for carrying out advertisement campaigns regarding government beneficiary schemes on JKRTC Buses.

During the meeting, the Board took some significant decisions for the progression of the corporation. The Board decided that order regarding hiring of JKRTC fleet by Government departments should be implemented in letter and spirit.

Moreover, the Board also decided that Rent assessment of JKRTC assets which have been leased should be done as per the present market value. They also decided that mobile van as well as crane should be bought for timely servicing of vehicles which face breakdown on roads and highways.

Similarly, the Board also decided that the assets including land outside J&K should be inspected on monthly basis so that encroachments can be checked.
