Dheeraj Gupta reviews progress of works under MTMP

Srinagar, May 18: Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Dheeraj Gupta today chaired a meeting to review the progress of works taken up during the previous My Town My Pride (MTMP) 1.0 and discuss the detailed Action Plan for Information Education and Communication (IEC) activities for the proposed MTMP 2.0.

The meeting was attended by Mission Director SBM-U, Director, Urban Local Bodies Kashmir, Chief Town Planner, Kashmir and other officers from SMC and allied departments. Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Director, Urban Local Bodies, Jammu and other officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.

At the outset, Principal Secretary was briefed about the abstract of works taken up, works completed and under progress works under MTMP 2020-21. It was given out that 552 works were approved under MTMP 1.0, out of which 529 were taken up. It was further given out that 444 works have been completed fully while work on the rest is in progress. Principal Secretary directed the concerned to complete the pending works at an earliest and start preparations for the MTMP 2.0 at the same time. My Town My Pride 2.0 is proposed to be held in near future and the meeting was held as a run up to the event.

Regarding the IEC activities to be taken in the run up to MTMP 2.0, Principal Secretary directed the concerned to submit physical and financial plan of IEC activities within one week. He asked them to go through the IEC activities of MTMP 1.0 and see what modifications are intended and the shortcomings that are to be removed. He said that the IEC activities organised should be such that are beneficial to the people and should reflect the expectations of the public.
