Enforcement team continues market checking in Kishtwar town on Eid-ul-Fitr

Kishtwar May 2: Team of Food Safety, DFCO Kishtwar conducted extensive market checking Drive ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr in Kishtwar town to ensure availability of  safe, quality, Hygienic & pure essential commodities to the Consumers besides to curb overcharging and profiteering.

 During the drive, the  team  inspected mutton and chicken outlets, Milk and milk products counters, Bakery shops, Sweets & confectionery manufacturers, vegetables and Fruit sellers,  kiryana establishments, itinerants etc. and they were strictly asked to desist from Unhygienic practices & Adulteration of food stuff.

Amid huge rush of buyers, the team randomly checked the counters & found about 70 kg .(approx. ) decomposed, rotten vegetables, open cut & uncovered fruits ,dusty & deteriorated bakery items, sweets & expired packed mixtures & allied products which were destroyed on the spot with the consent of Food Business Operators.

During market checking, 05 erring shopkeepers were booked under Section, 56 & 58 of FSS Act.
