JKRTC workers union protest in support of their demands

Srinagar, April 9: The employees of Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) today staged strong protest demonstration in Srinagar and strongly projected their issues.

Scores of protesters employees from the Jammu and Kashmir Transport Corporation assembled here in press enclave and chanting the slogans in favour of their genuine demands.

Speaking to media here, protesting employees urged the UT Government not to delay in addressing the legitimate demands of the RTC workers as it is no longer possible for the employees to tolerate the oppression. The rights of the people are being violated by keeping them without salaries from last five months.

The agitating employees are demanding release of five (5) months salary; regularization of consolidated employees, release of post retiral benefits in favour of retired employees, release of due 56% DA, implementation of SRO-43, besides implementation of 7th Pay Commission report.

The protesting employees were chanting slogans in support of their demands and warned the Government and management of JKRTC that if the issues of employees were not resolved, then they would intensify their struggle. Employees also warned that if issues were not resolved in a week’s time the workers would come out on the roads and resort to Chakka Jam strike as well and for this Government and Management of the Corporation will be responsible.
