Judicial, District Admin team visits Poonch Jail

Takes stock of facilities for inmates

Poonch, Mar 29: A joint team of judiciary, district administration and Police today visited Poonch District Jail to take stock of the facilities being provided to the inmates.

 Principal and Session Judge, Ashok Kumar Shavan, Deputy Commissioner, Inder Jeet; Secretary/Sub-Judge DLSA, Wahajat Hussain Kazmi;  Senior Superintendent of Police, Rohit Baskotra and  DYSP, Sachin Gupta today visited District Jail Poonch  were part of the team.

The Jail Superintendent, Police Rajni Sehgal presented a guard of honor to the visiting team.

During the visit, the team inspected the overall arrangement of the jail including the under construction hospital, control room, Kitchen Block, inmates’ Barracks, CCTV room, Video Conference room etc.

The team interacted with the jail inmates and enquired from them about the healthcare and other essential facilities provided to them.

 District and Session Judge, Ashok kumar Shavan and Secretary /Sub-Judge Wajahat Hussain Kazmi District Legal Services Authority Poonch, listened to their problems and assured to solve their genuine demands soon. The team also checked the food being provided to inmates.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the Jail Superintendent to provide all the amenities to inmates and also pay special attention towards their wellbeing by providing adequate medical facilities.

The team appreciated the jail superintendent, Rajni Sehgal for overall arrangements and facilities being provided to the   inmates.
