Leopard caught alive after injuring man in Kunzer Village

Kunzer, Mar 15 : A leopard was caught alive after injuring a man in Check-i-Sulbaba village of Kunzer in Baramulla district on Tuesday afternoon.

An official told , a leopard had taken shelter in a residential house of one Khursheed Ahmad Chopan of Check-i-Sulbaba and when locals surrounded him, it attacked one of them, leaving him injured.

He said that meanwhile, locals had informed the wildlife department, following which a team reached to the spot. “While maintaining utmost caution to avoid any untoward incident, the animal was captured safely. The injured was also rescued and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment,” he said.

The Injured was identified as Abdul Qayoom Dar son of Mohmmad Akbar Dar of Chukkar area of Kunzer.

The official said that captured leopard will be sent to Dachigam National park.
