Director Sports Declares UT Level Volleyball Tourney Open

About 100 PELs transferred, PET, PEM transfers on cards; YSS to start mega plantation drive across J&K: Gazanfar Ali

 

Rajouri, Mar 15: The Department Of Youth Services and Sports organised Inter Distt UT Level Tournament in the discipline of Volleyball for under 19yr boys at Mini Sports Stadium here. The tournament was declared open by Director Youth Services and Sports Department J&K Gazanfar Ali who was accompanied by ADDC Rajouri Pawan Kumar Parihar and DYSSO Rajouri Sunil Singh Sambyal. The inaugural ceremony started with an oath taking ceremony. All the participants took an oath of abiding by the rules and regulations of the game.

While addressing the participants, Director YSS  advised the young student players to take part in physical activities regularly for their sound mental and physical health. While highlighting the importance of taking part in games and sports he stated that it definitely inculcates a sense of discipline and brotherhood in the participants. He appreciated DYSSO Rajouri for conducting this mega event in the most proficient way. While talking about the  benefits of planting trees he stressed upon the participants of the event that at-least one sapling should be planted by each one of you this year as the Department has decided to run a mega plantation drive across J&K.

He also threw light on the new initiative of the Department and said that the Department has a huge work force and every possible step is being taken to make them comfortable for getting maximum from their efforts.  “Under one such initiative employees are being given a chance to suggest three choices for their next place of posting and 99 Physical Education Lectures were transferred to the Kashmir division successfully. Transfer list of PETs and PEMs is also being prepared and shall be issued soon”. He further added.

Teams from all the 20 districts of the J&K UT are participating in the tournament with 210 young school boys. 28 Officials have been deputed for the  successful conduct of the tourney. The tournament is being organised as per league cum knock out basis and shall conclude on 17th of the current month.

ADDC Rajouri Pawan Kumar Parihar also addressed the players and appreciated the  Department of YSS for conducting such type of Sports activities in all JK districts involving maximum number of youth. He lavished praise on the employees of YSS for playing their role in eradicating the menace of drugs in the district.

DYSSO Rajouri in his welcome address paid gratitude to Director Sports for gracing the event with his presence.
