Arrangements for R-Day celebrations finalized in Poonch

Poonch, Jan 15:  Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss and finalize the arrangements to be put in place for the smooth and successful celebration of the Republic day 2022 in the district.

The meeting was held under strict adherence of COVID  protocol and all the participant were fully masked.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Dr.Basharat Hussain,  Assistant Commissioner Revenue Poonch, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, Gen. Manager DIC, Dr. Zakir Hussain, CEO, Tourism, Dr. Mohammad Tanveer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Satvir Singh, Chief Medical Officer, G. A Malik, Station Director, AIR, CEO Education, Cultural Officer, Alamdar Adam, Chief Agriculture Officer, Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD, PDD, and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

It was decided in the meeting that the main function will be held at Sports Stadium, poonch where Chief Guest will unfurl the National Flag and take salute at the March past comprising the contingents of Police, CRPF, JKP, JKPQRT Commando, Home Guard, NSS from degree college Poonch besides Police Band.

The meeting was told that the Republic Day celebrations will begin with playing of Shehnai Vadan at designated places by the Information Department in the wee hours.

For smooth conduct of the National event, the meeting constituted the reception committee, illumination committee and cultural programme committee for the successful celebration of the National Function.

The DC laid special emphasis on adherence to Covid Appropriate Behavior while observing the Republic Day Celebrations so as to minimize the chances of its spread.

A detailed discussion was also held on various issues regarding seating arrangements, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid, PAS, fire-tenders, Media gallery, among others.

The DC directed the concerned executive engineers to ensure adequate arrangements of barricading, seating and drinking water supply besides uninterrupted power supply on the day of function. He also passed directions to the concerned officers to ensure ambulance, fire tender, security and provision of adequate manpower at the venue of the event.

Asking for celebrating the day with added zeal and patriotic spirit, the DC said that the day commemorates the process of establishment of the Indian Constitution and therefore, it must be celebrated with verve and patriotic fervor.

Calling for strict compliance to COVID SOPs while performing different activities related to the National day celebrations, he asked for ensuring that all the COVID related protocols are strictly adhered to by all the participants during rehearsals and on the scheduled day to avoid the risk of infection.
