India reports 13,451 COVID cases in 24 hrs; death toll at 585 :Health ministry

New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) India has reported 13,451 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, whereas 585 related fatalities were also recorded during the same period, taking the total tally to 45,5653, according to the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday.

The recovery rate touched 98. 19 per cent, said the Ministry, as 14, 021 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,35,97,339.

“The Active Caseload falls below 2 lakh mark and is presently at 1,62,661; which is lowest in 242 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.48 per cent of the country’s total Positive Cases since 2020 March.

“The daily positivity rate is 1.03 per cent, which is less than 2 per cent for last 23 days, whereas weekly positivity rate is 1.22 per cent which also remains less than 2 per cent for the last 33 days now,” the Ministry reported.

The testing capacity across the country continues to get expanded. India has so far conducted over 60.32 Crore tests across the country.

In the last 24 hours, India administered 51,56 054 vaccine doses as the coverage exceeded 103 Crore as per provisional reports till 0700 hours Wednesday ,” the Ministry said.

The data suggested that, more than 107.81 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the direct state procurement category.

“More than 12.37 Crore balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered,” the data said.
