ACP Gbl presides over cleanliness/ awareness drive under Clean India Program

GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 12: Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP) Ganderbal, Bilquees Jan today presided over the Cleanliness cum Awareness programme organized by Rural Development Department Ganderbal at Block Office Kangan.

During the cleanliness drive all field staff of Block Office Kangan Participated and collected polythene, plastic bottles and other waste material in and around the Block Office Kangan for its safe disposal.

Later, an awareness programme on the Solid Waste Management, Grey Water management and plastic waste management was held within the premises of Block Development Office in which Sarpanchs, Panchs and locals participated.

During the awareness program, the participants were made aware about the ill effects of polythene on our environment.

ACP while speaking on the occasion said that cleanliness is a vital part of a healthy lifestyle and important for physical well-being and a healthy environment and urged everyone to become a part of Clean India Mission.

Meanwhile in a separate programme, the Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYS&S) Ganderbal in collaboration with Zonal Physical Education Officer Hariganiwan organized cleanliness and awareness programme at main market Hariganiwan in which all field staff along with office staff of Zone Hariganiwan and sports loving students participated.

District Youth Services & Sports Officer Ganderbal, Sheikh Shafkat Iqbal and Zonal Physical Education Officer Hariganiwan, Raja Yaqoob along with departmental officials & Sports loving students conducted an awareness programme about the importance of cleanliness of the environment.
