Police seizes 05 vehicles for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals

Srinagar August 31: Police in Bandipora have seized 05 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nadihal Aragam area of Bandipora.

Officers from Police Station Aragam under the supervision of DySP PC Bandipora at a check point established at Nadihal Aragam Bandipora intercepted 05 tractors loaded with illegally extracted sand and Bajri. All vehicles have been seized involved in extraction and transportation of minerals illegally.

A case vide FIR No. 34/2021 under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Aragam and investigation have been initiated.

Police requests the people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
