Action to be taken against those throwing animal hides, skin on road during Eid: SMC

Srinagar, Jul 19 (UNI) Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Monday issued a warning that stern action would be taken against all those who will throw animal hides and skin on the road and drains during Eid-ul-Azha celebrations.

SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu said that SMC is offering a dedicated service for the collection and disposal of animal hides and skin during the Eid celebrations when thousands of animals will be sacrificed by the people.

He said that during the Eid-ul-Azha, animal hides and skins should not be thrown on roadside, open spaces, lanes and drains besides other public places.

He said such acts would invite a heavy penalty.Meanwhile, Mattu said he has passed directions for the establishment of dewatering and drainage ‘Save Our Souls’ (SOS) control room at SMC in view of adverse forecast for moderate to heavy rainfall from July 19 to 21.“All men and machinery to be on alert”, he said.
