COVID-19: India reports 31,443 cases, 2,020 deaths in past 24 hrs

New Delhi, Jul 13 (UNI) India recorded 31,443 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours, pushing the country’s caseload to 3,09,07,282, while the death toll soared to 4,10,784 with 2,020 more fatalities, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

The active cases declined by 18,121 to stand at 4,32,778. It is now 1.40 per cent of the total caseload.

The past 24 hours saw 49,007 people recovering from the deadly virus, taking the total recovery count to 3,00,63,720, which is 97.28 per cent of the case tally. The fatality rate stood at 1.332 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 43,40,58,138 lakh samples have been tested so far for coronavirus. Of this, 17,40,325 were tested in the past day.

On the vaccination front, 38,14,67,646 people have been administered Covid-19 vaccines, with 40,65,862 being inoculated in the past 24 hours.
