Covid-19 infected detenue dies of heart-attack in Kupwara Jail

Kupwara, June 15, KNT: A Covid-19 infected detenue died of heart attack inside the North Kashmir’s District Jail Kupwara.

Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that an inmate who was in judicial custody and lodged at District Jail Kupwara suffered heart attack during the intervening night of June 14 and 15.

They said that the detenue had been tested Covid-19 positive.

He had been arrested in a case vide FIR number 15/2021 under section 376, 342 by police station Sopore.

Police sources identified the deceased inmate as 37-year-old Lateef Ahmed Mir son of Muhammad Hamzah Mir, a resident of Brath Kalan Sopore.

The deceased was in judicial custody since 5 February 2021. (KNT)
