COVID: India logs 84,332 new cases, 4,002 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi, Jun 12 (UNI): India has reported 84,332 fresh Covid-19 cases, lowest after 70 days, and 4,002 fatalities in the past 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry on Saturday.

The fresh addition took the active case tally to 10,80,690, while the death toll soared to 36,7,081 and the cumulative caseload now stands at 2,93,59,155.

On a positive note, recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new cases for the 30th consecutive day with 1,21,311 patients being recovered during the past day, hence pushing the recovery rate to 95.07 per cent.

Country’s testing capacity has also been substantially ramped up with a total of 37.62 crore tests being conducted so far in the nation.

On the vaccination front, a total of 24,96,00,304 people have been vaccinated across the country till now with 34,33,763 being inoculated in the last 24 hours.
